New Year, New Aspirations

It’s the first post of 2021! ❀

As tradition would have it, we have to start the new year off discussing goals and expectations for the year. I hope you all got a chance to view my 2020 review in my last blog post, but today I want to talk all things 2021. Obviously, we are treading lightly into this new year with life still being a big question mark. Though there are a number of things to be optimistic about, we don’t want to be overly ambitious with our expectations. However, I will never stop being overly ambitious with my personal goals.

I think we can all collectively agree that the last thing on our minds is a New Year’s Resolution. Although I’ve already caught glimpses of morning news broadcasts talking about losing quarantine weight, I like to think most of us are fully aware that COVID-19 doesn’t expire at midnight on New Year’s Eve. Though it is exciting to have almost-certainty that an effective vaccine is coming our way in 2021, I know I’ve learned my lesson about great expectations. I certainly don’t think there’s anything wrong with goal-setting as I have been making vision boards for the past two years and may even do one next month; however, I don’t have to be the one to discuss the harmful effects of setting overly ambitious goals at the beginning of the year and falling into a pit of self-pity three weeks later.

Places I Hope to See in 2021

It’s pretty safe to say I have no intention of hopping on an airplane in the year 2020, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t spent my fair share of time making a list (and checking it twice) for hopeful trips in 2021. Obviously, this is all contingent upon the status of the virus next year, but I already have some places mapped out:

Arizona
One of my oldest friends, Blake, is getting married!! His wedding will be in Arizona which I have never visited before. I cannot wait to explore the natural beauty of the desert and finally do a canyon hike. It’s going to be even better to have local guides as my boyfriend’s friends (recently featured in my vlog!) live there. There’s no telling how long I would be there, but I’m hoping to at least see Papago Park or Desert Botanical Garden.

Abundance Goal Setting Session Powered by Bold Babes Co (Review)

With our world shifting to all things virtual, I am able to attend a lot more events that are hosted by organizations I really admire. While I would oftentimes try to attend these events in person previously, I found myself running into different scheduling conflicts or having to justify driving a far distance for only a couple of hours of my day. When these events are held after the work day, especially, it becomes easier to talk yourself out of it rather than rushing halfway across town. While the limitations to virtual events are those in-person connections and potential networking opportunities, it provides accessibility which is extremely important. I am not only given the opportunity to attend and learn, but I am also given the opportunity to share my thoughts with you all. Further, I can help promote people and/or their work with the audience I have here which is the most fun part. πŸ™‚

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote a review of a webinar I attended and today, we are doing the same!! I attended a presentation called “Abundance Goal Setting” which was hosted by Bold Babes Co. If you have been following me for a while, you will know that Bold Babes Co. hosted the first event I attended as a formal blogger. I have since been following the organization’s journey through social media which leads us to present-day. Continue reading “Abundance Goal Setting Session Powered by Bold Babes Co (Review)”
