26: What I’ve Learned Since Quarantine

26: What I’ve Learned Since Quarantine

I went back and forth about sharing my annual birthday post and the revelations I have come to over the last year of life, but eventually, I thought to myself, “Why not share?” After making the decision to take a hiatus last month, I felt stuck between a rock and a hard place. The year of 25 was, for the most part, an exceptional year for me; I traveled to England, France, Hawaii, and the Dominican Republic. I even explored Fredericksburg, Texas and returned to Washington D.C. after three years. Outside of traveling, I taught myself how to create and edit vlogs and ultimately settled on the vision I wanted for this blog and my YouTube channel. Even more importantly, I met the most perfect man that has only brought joy to my life since our first date. ❤ Overall, you could say the last year on this earth has been pretty amazing!! Until recently, that is.

“STAY-CATION,” a Webinar by The Black Travel Summit (Review)

Long time, no…write? If you read my last blog post, you would know I intentionally took a hiatus given the current climate. After making the decision to position this blog as more travel-centered, I was obviously at an impasse for providing interesting and relevant content. Until now, that is. I should say that you shouldn’t expect any trips in the near future and instead, like everything else in the world, the content on this blog may have to pivot for the time being. Still, I am so excited to feel inspired and motivated again after a month and some change of feeling like I’d hit a dead end. In travel-related news, I tuned into a webinar hosted by The Black Travel Summit this past Saturday called “STAY-CATION” and wanted to share my thoughts with you all!!

Why I Don’t Travel Solo (Yet)

Happy March, everyone!!

Though we are sadly no longer in Black History Month (but are excitingly in Women’s History Month), supporting black businesses, sharing black stories, and continuing discourse about black experiences does not have an end date. I worked extremely hard not only on my blog, but also the content I specifically created for my Instagram as well as my YouTube videos for Black History Month. The bulk of it was two months in the making, so I would greatly appreciate just a little bit of your time in reading/viewing and/or sharing that content!! ❤

So, solo travel… I always thought this was a MUST-DO in my lifetime. It seems so introspective and almost like a rite of passage for self-growth. For women specifically, solo travel has become more and more popular the more information we are handed and the more other women share their stories. However, taking the actual plunge to go somewhere near or far can still be daunting. I mean, if people don’t know how to be single for more than a month, how many are comfortable with the idea of being completely by themselves in a place they have never been before.

Boss Babes Happy Hour

Boss Babes Happy Hour

This past Friday, I decided to take the plunge and go to a creative and entrepreneurial event hosted by Dallas Girl Gang at The Riveter. As you all know, I went to my first event as a blogger about two years ago and sadly, I have sat on the sidelines a bit in the ‘networking’ area of my life while I was working through school and other things in my personal life. However, if you saw my first video of this year, you all know that I am determined to really fuel my creativity. Attending more events that connect creatives and entrepreneurs, especially women, is exactly the way to accomplish that. Enter: Dallas Girl Gang x The Riveter Boss Babes Happy Hour!!IMG_4452IMG_4451 Continue reading “Boss Babes Happy Hour”
