I feel like I am constantly writing a “sorry I’ve been MIA” post as if I have a major following. Still, I feel like if I say I have new posts every Sunday, I should uphold it. Funny enough, I say this as I am posting on a Monday evening, but I felt like some form of update was due to explain the last few weeks as well as what you should expect moving forward for as long as I am in my current state.
As many of you already know, I am unfortunately still unemployed which has put my life of exploration on hold. 😦 Not to mention, we have had a lot of rain which really takes away from the fun, free things to do in Dallas (a.k.a. being outdoors). While I love sharing posts different to going on adventures, considering I do refer to this as a lifestyle blog, I started this blog with the intention of sharing an insight to my explorations in the different cities I have had the privilege of visiting and/or living in.
I believe that blogs can take new directions, and sometimes even for the better, but traveling and everything that entails brings me immense joy and excitement which reminds me of why I started this whole thing in the first place. It may even be a still-too-soon-to-call-it-nostalgic feeling of where I have been and an endless chase after that high. During these down times though, I wonder how homogeneous my posts have become not only in terms of content, but also in format.
At the same time, I would love to share more about personal reflections or revelations that have led me to become the person I am still growing into. Given my stagnant state, however, I fear that I may run into the same problem I did with my personal column in college: repeating the same themes. Between these two issues with my two main writing areas, I don’t know whether this means I have just found my writing style, or if this means I am in a rut in all areas of my life. What I do know is that I still want to have this blog, but I guess I need a new direction. I need to get inspired.
For the few of you who do read this blog whenever I post, I would seriously love some suggestions. I am not just saying this for effect. I genuinely want to know what my readers like about my blog and what I should maintain while I start trying to find new material on my end. I would also love to know if there is anything anyone is interested in having my take on. I may not get any responses, but I definitely want to put it out there. I say this as often as I remember to, but I genuinely appreciate anyone who takes the time to read these posts and has given me their continued support over the last couple of years.
