Curtain Call

Curtain Call

In the midst of the most stressful weeks I’ve ever endured academically, it was a particularly meaningful week for me. This week, I had my final dance performance at SC and as a college student overall. When my friend Alex told me he had an idea to start a small, lowkey dance project (also known as Lipstick Mafia) this semester with some of my old teammates, I was extremely excited! I never realized how much I missed dancing until that first practice. Having our last performance at danSCollab this past Thursday was such a bittersweet moment. We had the opportunity to perform for Freshman Danceoff the night before which really made the experience come full circle, despite not participating in Danceoff during my freshman year. I loved being back on stage and performing for an audience, but I am more importantly going to miss being part of a team with people who really shaped my college experience and who I am overall. COMIC-CON

Well, as many of you know, I had the opportunity to go to Comic-Con International: San Diego this past Thursday! Though I was only there for one day, let me tell you, it was an EXPERIENCE. Upon arriving to the San Diego Convention Center, it’s no surprise why so many people attend this event every year. What originally was limited to the inside of the Convention Center has now poured out into the streets with advertisements and attractions galore. You could easily spend one day of the four-day exhibition outside alone. I had a very limited window to explore the main floor and panels given the fact that I was there for work, but I think for anyone interested in attending Comic-Con, these are things you need to know [in no particular order]: Continue reading “COMIC-CON”

Father’s Day

Father’s Day

Not that we normally do anything particularly special, but it’s weird to think we won’t be spending Father’s Day together. I felt it especially necessary to make this post because it’s the last Father’s Day where I’m still in college. As I approach my final semester at USC, I’d like to take this time to thank you. Thank you for reminding me that even if something may be a burden, especially a financial one, life is always about experience. Thank you for always finding a way for me to broaden my horizons. Thank you for always supporting my decisions even when they don’t make sense to you. I know I’m always indecisive about what I want to do in the future, and I know you don’t mean to be on my back about that, but just know that you have nothing to worry about (even though you’re constantly worrying, haha). I hope that you never feel you haven’t done everything you can for me because you’ve surpassed yourself time and time again. I hope that you know-and I think you do-that you’ve raised someone you can be proud of and I will continue to make you (and Mommy) proud. Although I’m living my own life now, know that I will always have you in my head and my heart. I can say that I’m indebted to you for so many things, but I know your goal has just been to provide for your family in the best way you know how. You’ve done an amazing, amazing job and there aren’t enough words to express how grateful I am to call you my dad every day.
I love you ❤

Star Quality

Star Quality

Ever since I landed back in the states, my life has been moving non-stop. Whether it’s me having to visit people before I leave or seeing others before they leave, I have not had a full night’s rest since the last week of April. Not to mention, I was moving in basically all of last week and some of this week. Another event that took place this week was my first week at work. For those who don’t know, I’m interning for Turner Broadcasting System in the PR department for tbs and TNT. I was pretty terrified at first, not knowing what to expect, and I also have a two hour commute on my hands, but it looks like it’s going to be a great internship. It’s only been three days, but it has been an absolute whirlwind. Continue reading “Star Quality”
